Yesterday As I was about to go into a gaming session on Battlefield 1. When I was in the menu screen all of a sudden my custom pc was restarting spontaneously over and over. I was sort of freaked out. Never seen anything like this before. My worst fear was that it was a hardware failure. I was hoping deep down it was just Windows 10 sucking and that there was nothing wrong with my hardware. It continued for a bit while I tried to get things done. So I shut down my PC checked the RAM, checked if my CPU Cooler was properly installed. It all seemed fine. I checked the BIOS in my motherboard. that seemed normal. So I ruled out a dying motherboard, bad RAM, or overheating CPU. I plugged my mini tower back in and it wouldn't turn on. I checked the power button cable but it was fine.

While I was nosing around inside my PC, it turned on a minute later on it's own after pressing the on switch. And I heard a strange noise. And it seemed to be coming from the power supply. Then I realized my power supply was failing. It was a top of the line model it was an EVGA SuperNova G2 550. Fully modular and 80+ Gold rated, a very nice unit with a textured finish. I was disappointed, but it was probably the best case scenario since power supplies of fairly inexpensive even for a value, budget unit form a reputable brand. I don't have to hunt down an LGA 1150 Intel motherboard or replace a 4th gen Intel Core processor by getting it off Ebay.

Thankfully, I have a Microcenter in town so getting a power supply would be a jiffy. After looking at the various models and makes I settled for a Cooler Master unit that was on sale for around 35 dollars (55 dollars MSRP). It was the best priced 500 watt unit from a brand I personally trust (my case, CPU cooler, fans and thermal paste are from Cooler Master.)  When I got back home I went to work to replace the power supply. While I did this I reapplied fresh thermal paste and refastened my CPU cooler. Reassembling it and replacing my PC back on my desk I turned on and it booted up normally. All was left was the graphics card.

I decided to put back in my old GTX 960 2GB from EVGA. It is a less power hungry card then the RX 480. But I decided to put it back for simple nostalgia. As well as a precaution since the Maxwell architecture from NVIDA is very power efficient on idle as well as in gaming. I remembered when I overclocked it to over 1550MHz. Good times those. I played Fallout 4 on high settings and Battlefield 1 on medium with low post process and high texture both at a smooth 60 FPS and Full HD resolution. So it all ended well. I going to try and get a warranty claim for the EVGA SuperNova since I believe it had a 7 year warranty.

It could've been worse but all ended well.

My art output this year has been well abysmal. I haven't been uploading very often, sometimes taking weeks between an update. Especially in comparison to my past years.

I don't know what it is. I'm about to put in my two weeks at my job. Not that it is the main cause of my DeviantArt drought. Just felt it is time to move on from there. I also started playing less video games as I felt I was spending too much time with them. As well as spending less time on toxic forums, chats, and online games. And getting into online fights. Guess I just spent too much time not drawing and making very little progress when I do. I always had trouble with anxiety from time to time. I was thinking of uploading a drawing then stopping myself thinking it's not good enough, or I can do better. Sometimes I ask myself it this too sexual or too ambitious. Even obscure maybe. Then I see on my watch feed some over the top piece of work, and I tell myself why can't I be this carefree? How do they do it? Should I upload that one sketch I made last year? So yeah, 2018 has not been very good form my perspective as a user on DeviantArt. I want to change that.

1. What video game do you go back to from time to time?

Fallout 4 and Fallout New Vegas and their DLCs, also some MGSV sort of gave up trying S-Ranking every mission.

That'd had to be The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Loved reading when I was at school.

3. Anyone on deviantart you would like to meet in real life?

I'd like to meet a troll I had about 5-4 years ago. Don't think he/she has an account anymore.

My sister, but she doesn't know who I am here.

5. Jedi or Sith?

Jedi, I can't be evil.

That is like trying to pick a favorite child.

Making this because I was bored, and a little late. Like a month late...

Is Red Velvet a psychopath?

I guess I did a good job showcasing Red's hot temper, as well as her ruthlessness in battle. But yeah she is kind of a psychopath. You see, when she was younger at around 14. She was stripped of her past memories and most of her original personality. And were replaced with extensive knowledge of martial arts, gun handling, and various techniques for survival, stealth, and killing. She was intended to be the best possible agent, the procedure was experimental and could have driven the young cat into madness killing herself. But it was mostly successful. The mad genius who had her captive also wanted his super agent to be obedient. But the mind is an expansive thing, nearly impossible to map it all. There were leaks and cracks in Red's new persona, leaving room for free thinking. Which for the mad genius ended in disaster. Red is confused and is relearning normal things in everyday life. She does have a temper though, there is no denying that. Outside of battle, missions, or anything like that, Red behaves much like a curious kitten. And it is adorable if you ignore the things she has done. It’s almost as if she is two cats in one. A super agent cat with ice cold nerves, deadly accuracy, an aggressive attitude and has accomplished the impossible in her still young age. And the other is a socially awkward, curious, as well as a sometimes very shy and very clumsy cat in normal day circumstances. It’s frightening how she can barely chop some vegetables yet she can throw the knife accurately at someone.

Is Red Velvet friends with Kitty?

While Kitty made strides to get on Red's good side while she was at T.U.F.F. However Red seemed indifferent about it. Kitty recognized that Red can be a powerful asset and it was to there benefit to keep her. The Chief however didn't really like her and saw her as a ruthless punk. With good reason, she attacked some staff members while being examined. As well as being uncooperative and showing her temper in the form of bullying others. Kitty did what she could to make the unpopular Red feel at home. Such as having conversations, visiting her in her cell, and sneaking her out to enjoy the big city. And in training Kitty saw how formidable Red is up close in person. Making Red one of the few that Kitty truly reveres. Despite all this Red still didn’t trust Kitty, it’s very hard to trust someone when all your life has been lies, cover ups, broken promises, frustrations, life death situations and being treated differently.

Does Red Velvet have any love interest?

If there is something Red is known for besides her combat skills, stealth and her temper. Is her great looking healthy physique and her amazing eyes. She has a some admirers, although they stay at a distance. Some even make bets if they lay a finger on her to see how she reacts. Her reputation and lack of social skills has made it hard to make trustworthy friends and much less a lover. Rediscovering the emotions of affection has made Red very shy when it comes to romance. She is shy to say or admit any love interest at the moment. Although there are signs. She seemed awfully friendly towards Bobcat 58 in Wild Felinae since they first meet in the Congo jungle in a face off he had with two K-9 agents who were looking to kill Red. This has caused some rumors at Wild Felinae. Eric (or Iron Claw) seemed to have a liking towards Red, saying that he likes “tough girls”. Red on the other hand doesn't seem to like his arrogance or at least finds him too overbearing. She isn’t explicate but there are rumors based on solid observations.

Red Velvet doesn't like her name?

She prefers to be called Emily, as a somewhat vain attempt to erase the stigma that the name Red Velvet brings. Why did she picked Emily, well it’s because she reminded Jack Rabbit of a cat he knew back in the United Kingdom in his youth. Despite discovering Jack to be a lying, manipulative evil doer. His charisma left a lasting impression her. Her name “Red Velvet” was given as a description of her colors. Her dark red hair and the cream colored fur are similar to a red velvet cake. It was given to her by some combat instructors in the US Special Forces after she was apprehended. She would rather forget about her darker years as a US spy. Emily is her preferred name, although not everyone calls her Emily much to her chagrin.

Bonus Question

Is Red Velvet evil? Or a villain?

She is not truly evil, but she can be called villain considering her actions in the past. Mostly blackmailing, assassinations, and stealing valuables for whoever she is working for. She did a lot dirty work for the United States government. For Wild Felinae most of her targets were K-9 related or some other factions Wild Felinae is in dispute with. Think of her as a misguided feline.

Bonus Facts:

  • As an added bonus to be a "super agent" parts of her nervous system was numbed improving pain tolerance. But she has a hard time tasting food and drinks.

  • She hates fancy dresses. Very much. She says they are uncomfortable and obstructive.

  • Red is very good with the trigger. Her favorite gun was a suppressed M4 Carbine (A fully automatic version) with minimal attachments. One of the positives in her days with the US Government.

  • Red is still a virgin, not even Jack Rabbit has gotten in her panties. Although it may not last for long as she was exposed to the internet one day.

  • Red Velvet has never been kissed nor has she never kissed anyone ever before.

  • She only speaks English. But her tone is somewhat lacking in personality as she has no accent. It’s almost monotone.

Today I found something interesting in my mailbox. There was a brown bag and in it was a USB drive. Now there is nothing shady going on, just didn't expect it to arrive. About a year ago a friend of my dad was kinda interested in my hobbies. He was surprised that I use open source software like Krita, GIMP, and Inkscape. About a year later I got this USB drive in the mail. And it was sent by him. In the USB drive was an installer for Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection. I proceeded to copy the file onto my computer's hard drive and installed the programs i was interested in.

I haven't used any Adobe Creative Suite software since my high school days on those fancy iMacs in graphics class. This was during my early days on Deviantart. I pretty hyped to get a version of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks, etc. The beauty of Windows PCs is the backwards compatibility, if I had a Mac with the latest and greatest operating system it wouldn't have worked with it. It's a new learning curve for me. And I'll probably keep using Krita for most of my works. But Photoshop is a very versatile program there are many uses for it.
